Haunting happens - it's more popular than many people would like to think. One of the practical aspects of every book that discusses ghosts and other paranormal activities, is a way to test if your house is haunted. In other words - how to detect the presence of ghosts and spirits? There are many ways to do so, that I'm going to describe right now.
Cold Spots
One of the most popular phenomenons regarding haunting and ghosts is called "cold spots". As the name states, those are the spots of cold air that can be sensed out of nowhere. Imagine that you're walking through warm corridor, and suddenly you can sense cold space. You're making few steps forward, and it's warm again. You're going back, and cold spot is still there. It is believed for cold spots to be places where ghosts and spirits draw psychic energies to sustain their own "life" energies. Just be careful not to consider air-conditioner for paranormal activity, please.
Sensing the Presence
Another way to detect the presence of ghosts would be to literally sense a presence of someone or something, when physically there's no one around - no people, no animals. Like you stand in the kitchen, and out of no where you can sense there's someone else in the room - you're looking around, but there is nothing but dinner on the table.
Mood changes
Ghosts and spirits, depending on their nature, can change mood in single room, or whole room. Imagine that you're watching good comedy in TV and suddenly you want to cry - it might suggest there's some sad spirit in the room. Spirits and ghosts can also create happy mood, or negative or even aggressive emotions.
Objects moving
Some intelligent spirit (meaning conscious ghosts) can move objects with invisible means. Different items might disappear and then appear in completely other place, or ghosts might also move things while you watch them (it's quite an interesting view, I have to admit).
Those are active ways of detection. You can also detect ghosts with passive means, this is - by assuming that things like weird shadows, or astral lights might suggest a presence in the building. Sometimes also nightmares, or obsessive thoughts, and finally weird behaviours of animals might suggest some paranormal activity in your house.
As you can see, there are quite a few methods of detecting the presence of ghosts and spirits. Keep them in mind, but remember to remain skeptical - not every air-conditioner is ghost.

I Still See Pap!
Death is a difficult subject for adults to understand. Children have an even harder time trying to grasp the concept. That someone they love is not coming back.
When a family experiences the death of a loved one, adults may try to explain to the kids that their deceased loved one is in heaven or a better place. Most people believe in an afterlife in which the soul or spirit that was inhabiting a human body continues to live in some realm of consciousness. Yet many adults tell children that their loved one doesn’t exist anymore. It’s hard for kids to understand and accept this as reality—especially when they continue to see the one who is supposed to be “deceased.”
My grandfather, whom we called Pap, died in 1988. That was more than a year before my brother and his wife had children. Imagine the surprise when their first-born son was about two or three years old and reported that Pap was in his room at night!
Being fundamentalist Christians, we did not take well to having spirits messing with our kids. We concluded that this entity could not be Pap for three reasons: 1.) according to the teachings of our religion, Pap was in heaven and could not possibly manifest on Earth; 2.) my nephew was afraid of the entity, so it must not have been a friendly spirit—although my grandfather was quite a jokester; 3.) our family did not believe in ghosts; therefore, they could not visit us! But we did believe in demons so we rationalized that we were under attack. We exorcised the child’s room and forbade the evil presence from coming near my nephew again. Ghosts comply with our requests when we intentionally set strong boundaries. Sadly, Pap did not return.
As I look back on that event from a different and non-religious perspective, I should have realized that the visitor was indeed Pap. Since my nephew had never met his great-grandfather, he would not have called the visitor Pap unless the ghost had identified himself as such. Those of us who knew Pap could have embraced the visitation with love and gratitude rather than fear and retaliation. The way we handled this episode caused my nephew to be fearful of the spirit world.
My grandmother and I had been visited by Pap’s spirit several times since he had passed. But I somehow dismissed all remembrance of those events when my nephew reported seeing Pap. Our experience conflicted with our dogma. Now, I jokingly say that if your experience doesn’t align with your theology, by all means change your experience! We couldn’t possibly alter our beliefs!
Pap loved my brother and me very much and I’m sure he would loved to have known our children. It was only natural that he would visit us and them from time to time just to check in.
If your child reports seeing a ghost, validate his experience so he will continue to trust his intuition. There is nothing to fear. In fact, this event can provide the perfect opportunity to bring better understanding about the unseen realm and death. You might ask the child if he knows the ghost’s name. If he identifies a loved one who has passed, find out if the ghost has a message for the family or if there is something the family can do for the ghost. Many times our disembodied loved ones simply stop by briefly to let us know all is well in the afterlife or to see how everyone is doing. If this is the case the spirit visitor will probably leave on its own.
However, if the family agrees that the ghost needs to leave immediately and not come back, you can lovingly set boundaries with the spirit. Simply call upon the angels of light and love to lead the spirit to a peaceful place in the afterlife where the soul development can continue.

Is Sleep Walking Related to Astral Travel or Projection?
Have you ever wondered why some kids (and adults) are prone to taking a stroll about the house during the night? Regardless of age, we are all more open to spiritual exploration during our sleep. Children—especially intuitive children—are easily able to tap into the spirit realm night or day. It’s no surprise then, that an intuitive child when deeply asleep is totally in another zone—an “out of body” experience in which some aspect of the human psyche actually travels to other dimensions.
Astral projection and astral travel are common among spiritually-gifted kids. It is important to understand the difference between astral travel and astral projection.
Astral travel is a process of projecting the consciousness into visual scenes. In meditation we might call this journeying or visualization. Some intuitives (empaths) may actually feel as if they are in the place imagined. However, astral traveling does not remove us from the physical body.
Astral projection is when our astral body actually travels to other places. This mainly occurs while asleep in dream states. The rapid eye movement phase is normally aligned with this phenomena. The person is only aware of the experience if he or she has memories afterward. Although we all have out-of-body experiences from time to time, there are those who can intentionally project their astral body and have a genuine experience while awake.
Sleep walking is caused when the astral body is unable to release itself from the physical body. The desire to project will animate the physical body without conscious awareness. A sleep walking person should not be awakened while in this state. Instead, help direct and get them back in bed and allow them to awaken on their own.
Yvonne Perry's grandson, Sidney, was prone to sleep walking episodes when he was younger. One night his mother, Amanda, awoke and saw Sid standing at the foot of her bed. She was about to ask him to go back to bed when she realized it was his astral body and not his physical body standing there. Naturally, she was startled and jumped out of bed to check on him. She found him sound asleep in his own bed in his room. This demonstrates astral projection.
Our bodies are able to perform automatic functions like walking, drinking, urinating, or driving while having an out-of-body experience. You’ve probably found yourself so deep in thought while driving that you got from point A to point B without not being aware of how you got there. Perhaps you were deep in a daydream while walking and didn’t realize you had crossed the street until you “came to." I’ve left my house many times so preoccupied with thoughts that I couldn’t remember whether or not I turned off the stove or let down the garage door. However, my body automatically performed these functions while my mind strayed. It’s the same way when you are asleep or having an astral projection or sleep walking.

Out of the Mouths of Babies!
Author Yvonne Perry is the paternal grandmother of a intuitive child named Sidney, who is now nine years old. Before Sidney started school, he would stay at his grandparents’ house some weekends. They did all kinds of fun things together.
One day when Sidney was with his grandmother (known as Von-Von), he kept repeating, “Hannah, Hannah, Hannah.”All day long he called the name. Yvonne said she felt like he was trying to give her a message, but she also thought he was too young to be channeling. At about nine months old, he wasn’t even talking more than a few words.
Finally curiosity got the best of her and Yvonne called Sidney’s mom, Amanda, hoping to get some more information. Amanda had a friend who a daughter named Hannah. Amanda and Hannah’s mom gave birth within a few weeks of one another but they lost touch a few months later. The last Amanda knew about her friend was that she had a drug problem. Amanda and Yvonne said a prayer of protection for Hannah while they were on the phone. Amazingly, Sidney stopped repeating the child’s name after that.
The next week Amanda received a call from someone who was still in touch with Hannah’s family. Hannah’s grandmother had taken custody of the child because Hannah’s mother had been neglecting the baby girl.
Sidney continued to show signs of being spiritually aware. When he looked at his grandmother, he would sometimes look beside her or over her and giggle. Yvonne sensed then that her grandson was able to see in the spirit realm. That belief was confirmed one day when Sidney was about four years old.
He was with Yvonne in her office when she asked him to another room in the house to get something for her. He jumped up and started toward the door. Then, all of a sudden he stopped and wouldn’t go another step. He backed up closer to where his grandmother was sitting.
“What’s wrong, Sid?” she asked.
“Von-Von, who is that?” He pointed toward the hallway. She intuitively knew what was happening because she had seen the spirit of young boy flash across her foyer several days prior.
“I’m not sure what his name is,” she said, “but he will not harm you. Let’s call upon Archangels Chamuel and Michael.” Yvonne pulled Sid into her lap. He was still staring at the doorway.
“Archangels Michael and Chamuel,” she said, “We have the spirit of a lost boy in our house. Please come and help him see the light and go to a safe place where he can find his friends and family. Thank you.”
“He’s gone,” Sidney said. Then, he slid off Von-Von’s lap and walked through the doorway without hesitation.
Yvonne began to write about their adventures and the next thing she knew, she had a collection of stories. She compiled them into one full-color print book and titled it The Sid Series ~ A Collection of Holistic Stories for Children. These twelve stories support intuitive children in the development of body, mind, and spirit. In the The Sid Series your child will:
• Learn about inner guidance through a garden visit with the fairies
• Face the fear of storms in a kayak on the Banana River
• Help a pirate find the real hidden treasure
• Find a ghost in Sid’s closet
• Use loving intention to heal a hurt puppy

Five Ways to Connect With Your Angel's Guidance
By Suzy Morgan
For the last twenty years, I have practiced asking for and receiving guidance consistently from the angelic realm. Why the angels? It was my choice. The angels were hot in the early 1990's and I wanted to connect. I could tell there was something loving "out there," and I wanted to know what it/they knew. I wanted their protection and their knowledge. The angels seemed innocuous and safe. After all, in Sunday School, it was always the angels or baby Jesus that showed up for kids. Since I was no longer much of a Jesus follower, although I believe in the Christ Consciousness, the angels were a natural shoe-in.
Little did I know that I already had the angels' protection. Their knowledge was mine as well, but I needed to learn to ask. I was brought up not to ask questions, because it wasn't "nice." My first sales job taught me if I didn't learn to ask outright, I would starve and be out of work in a week.
Here are some useful and workable ideas on how to get spiritual guidance for yourself.
1. Ask for Help. Ask for what you want. Ask for everything.
Asking is not as easy as it sounds. We think we can muscle our way through life until one day we get knocked down one time too many. Sometimer we are not sure what we want. We know we don't want what we have, but we have no idea of what we do want.
The angels suggest you work backward from what you don't want. For instance, if you are unsure whether to take job, or move to another city, or stay with your old relationship, notice what you don't like currently. Write down all the everyday incidentals that annoy you. When you feel like you have regurgitated all your old self-righteous anger, then write down the opposite, showing you exactly what you do want to create in your new job, location, or relationship.
Then give yourself permission to ask your angels, your guides of Light, or the Divine itself. Be specific, although it is perfectly acceptable to just ask for insight or guidance about whatever is concerning you. If you are feeling secure in who you are but are unsure of which direction to move toward, then ask to be shown a different way, a different route.
2. Ask what you need to see for your Highest Good.
It's always a good idea to ask to see and hear from a higher level of consciousness than what you scrape up from your own judgmental ego. It's why I consult only with the angels or the Divine itself before I do any readings for myself or others.
3. Be still and listen.
As someone who is only learning now to sit still, this has been my most difficult challenge. Initially the angels only connected with me when I was in the shower right after getting out of bed. Or worse yet, they would babble at some ungodly hour in the way-too-early morning hours. All of this stopped once I caught on that either I gave them their just attention or sleeping through the night was not an option. The subtle energies do not shout, they whisper until you are aligned with their channel.
4. How do I know who's talking?
Great question. You'll know for sure what you are hearing, seeing, or feeling is from a higher level of consciousness; i.e., your angels, your High Self, the Divinity, because there will be no edge. There will be no judgment. What you hear will be validating and not frightening. When your angels and higher consciousness speaks, it will be through the voice of compassion, of love. If you are hearing judgmental, sarcastic, or combative things, you are not tuned in to a consciousness that is any higher than your own ego. Not a smart move, because what you hear will get you into trouble.
5. Take action.
Asking for what you want is only half of the game. The other half is learning to trust what you hear and to take action to follow through. The trick is learning to fine-tune your specific channel to the angelic realm, or whichever path to higher consciousness you choose to master.
Be patient with yourself. You are teaching yourself a new way of living in peace by connecting to the higher channels of Love available to each of us.

The Afterlife - Is There Life After Death?
By Suzy Morgan
I love this question! Let's hear it angels!
My smart-alecky guides are bent over double in hysterics. What do you do now? You wander around. You think you have a purpose because you signed yourself up for a job, or the dishes, or the kids, and they're all waiting for you, now. Yeah? So what.
The dead "walk around" without bodies. They are energy. You are energy. Today you see yourself as real but you are simply matter taking up space. You can look with your physical eyes in the mirror and validate that it's you. Because you recognize yourself, does that mean you exist? How can you prove you exist? By your credit cards, your bank balance, your appointment this week at the dentist? The fact that another being in physical form walks into your space and gives you a hug? What if you both made the whole thing up? Fun thought.
You do the same thing when you're dead. Only you've left your body behind. Not only that, but your behind stayed with your decaying physical body. What you carry in your head and your heart continue. For you purists, the brain and the physical heart die with the body. Who you are, how you think, whether you allow yourself to love or not, lives on. Your consciousness lives on with your soul for eternity. In truth, it's impossible to kill you off. You just shape shift and create a deep mourning process for those of us left in a body who still love you and think you are gone forever. We should only know. We can't get rid of each other except by choice.
The physical life of our third dimensional world gives you the opportunity to squeeze yourself into the narrowly constricting reality of the five senses. Your dead-life affords you the opportunity to enlarge your view of life by filling your spirit with the Light of the Divine. This is heady stuff.
Imagine feeling safe, and loved, completely at home with every other being. Imagine there are differences, but you know intuitively that the differences mean nothing. It's like vanilla, chocolate or strawberry. You may have a preference, but one is not better than another.
You gently merge with each other, still maintaining your sense of your self, but aligned completely with The Self. You know that you are complete, whole, and perfect, unable to separate yourself from the scenery, from God, from each other, and, more importantly, you no longer want to separate. You accept you are an integral part of life. You are as important as the bum on the street and the Divine itself.
In this place of a life without judgment, we can be still and absorb the Light. We can choose to act as a guide for others. We can allow ourselves to be guided by others. We can continue helping others on earth see life through our expanded vision. Our path is guided by the Universal Love that surrounds and fills us until we heal from the pain of the body.
Then we are free to choose again. If we are ready to try on a new body with what appear to be new characters in each scene, it is up to us. If we have work to do on the other side, we can remain. If we choose to do nothing, and some do, we are free to do just that.
